It’s not my habit to crosspost material from my blog, but I thought some of you might be interested in the Christmas music podcast (first one since April!) just uploaded at Tachyon City.

It’ll probably come as no surprise that we own the third CD, and yes, the arrangements are even worse than the concept. But there is one decent joke on the album, when a bunch of dogs suddenly intrude on “What Child is This?” and start wuffling a much different song… but then again, it’s the same joke that pops up at the very end of the last song on the podcast, so maybe it isn’t as clever a gesture as I thought it was.
And oh, boy, that bookend band is so much worse than I remembered. And I’d always thought they sucked.

It’s not just you; they’ve gotten worse. Before I looked it up, I assumed that the “Twisted Sister” featured here was just Dee Snider and some studio musicians hired at an hourly rate, but no — they got the band back together in the ’00’s. For good or ill.
