Apparently I’ve been hacked, and will have to re-build a bunch of stuff. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks to those of you who sent heads-ups.

[checking other thread and catching up]
From what’s missing, I’d say it’s more likely that your webhost had some sort of server error and restored from a backup which was a couple of weeks old. Fortunately, with a site like yours that’s build out of static HTML pages, it should just be a matter of re-uploading the site. Then giving hell to your host.

You’d know more about this stuff than I would, but anyway, that’s what they said.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with your problem, but if you try to find your site through google the top link is http://www.aycyas.com/liz.htm , and this leads to a version of the site when the front reviews were Frankenstein and She. This was already the case before the Seyton review etc. was taken down.

“We have gone through your issue and your account was hacked and was spreading virus”
Well there’s an inspiring grasp of grammer.

Well, maybe you can send Seyton after the sons of jackals responsible.

So your site is hosted by semiliterate incompetents who blame you for their lack of security?
I can hook you up with hosting that’s actually competent, if you don’t mind it being in the States.

Seriously, Lyz — who is this webhost? Aside from their appalling grammar, there is NOTHING in that message that should inspire confidence in you as a customer. It fails to address their security flaws, explain how your site got infected, or make any effort to make up for something that was their lapse. Plus, they only back up every few weeks? If you want me to punch ’em for you, let me know.Or if you have already punched them, I will gladly deliver that comical “after the fact” kick in the stomach.

Appalling. I’m far from a techie, but I, too, can put you in touch with decent hosting Stateside, if your current provider fails to correct this problem mach schnell.

I just went through a hosting changeover this last year, and I’d be happy to put you in touch with my current, very professional host.

No, no. (Well, possibly, just not right now.) If I’ve learned anything, yes, they are all semi-literate, but they talk worse than they perform: they do back-up weekly and they have got me fully back in business. Sooo….

Ah, excellent. (goes back to steadily working her way through all of Lyz’s reviews)
