Classics? History?? Art!? Religion!?
My, my, my…. What a high-brow Roundtable this has been, to be sure. As for me, I’m wrapping up my contribution with something more along the lines of what might have been expected: an old dark house, a killer on the loose, and some rather dubious comedy.

I’ll try to make up for it by being extra-skeezy next time.

Just sour grapes, buddy. When we agreed on this, I had all sorts of plans for doing big, important films….sigh….

If you need to restore balance to the force, you could do the next Roundtable on movies based on video games. The brows will go so low, they’ll be on yer chins!

I blame the scaling back of my ambitions on the price of gas. The rental shop in my area with the best selection of silents is only marginally in my area, if you follow me. So no Cabiria, no Aelita, Queen of Mars, no 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea; instead, I had to make do with whatever happened to be sitting around the house already or, in the case of The Airship Destroyer, what I could find for free online. Might I ask what, specifically, you ended up not reviewing?

Hey, 20,000 Leagues has been available for download for quite some time at the Internet Movie Database.

And I’m always happy to lend stuff, bro’.
Me? Oh, I wanted to do one of the giants, like Nosferatu or Caligari; then I thought that I really ought to do some actual science fiction for a change, so I thought about Himmelskibet, and then Die Frau Im Mond; but in the end I had to settle for something requiring a little less intellectual effort. So I say again….sigh.
(Actually, 20,000 Leagues would have been a good compromise.)

That’s sado-MASochist, thank you. I make it a point to watch all of Boll’s films. It’s a crap test for my crap endurance! I find that at the end of each one, I have tremendous feelings of accomplishment, achievement, and drunkenness.

I know grown men who run screaming at the thought of Alone in the Dark.
Naturally I own a copy.
