Psst! I know a secret that I think you’d be interested in knowing. It has to do with the famous magician David Copperfield. Remember how years ago, he made The Statue Of Liberty disappear? I know how he did it. If you want to know how he did it, simply read my review of the magic-themed Ben Gazzara movie Quicker Than The Eye, and in the review you’ll find the answer. And if I get enough positive comments about this review, I will tell you guys the ingredients of the coating mix on Kentucky Fried Chicken (is it really eleven herbs and spices?)

Well, dagnabbit, there’s another idea I had that it turns out has already been done. One of my screenplays in progress is an espionage action thriller (or whatever the heck you call that genre) about a magician who ends up getting caught up in spy business against his will. Although, aside from that, the plot is completely different from what you describe concerning Quicker Than The Eye, so I guess it’s not really a problem. Especially if Quicker Than The Eye is so, well, unknown.
(On an unrelated note, huh, with that gun in the crosshairs on the Q, it looks like they were sort of trying to pass this off as a Bond clone, weren’t they?)

“the ingredients of the coating mix on Kentucky Fried Chicken (is it really eleven herbs and spices?)”
Back in the late 80’s, I read a book on the subject of truth in advertising, which at one point discussed performing a chemical analysis on KFC’s breading to test exactly that claim. If I remember correctly, the lab could confirm the presence of only four seasonings.

Meanwhile, on the subject of the movie itself, the two biggest defects you describe– the conspicuous cheapness and the sensation you get that Quicker Than the Eye was shot from a rough draft screenplay– follow inevitably from the presence of that little star-shaped symbol near the lower left of the poster. That’s the logo for Academy Entertainment, the company that released the first six entries in (you guessed it) the Witchcraft series.

I noticed the Academy Entertainment logo when I first spotted the video box at the thrift store where I bought it, so I was prepared for the worst.
By the way, the ingredients for KFC’s coating mix are: flour, sugar, salt, and black pepper (some reports claim there’s also MSG.)

The Colonel liked to refer to the franchise recipe as “that slop”. He wasn’t at all happy with the food that got sold with his name on it, but in the end he took the money.

RE: recipe – Get outta town! That’s it? And it tastes so good!
Well, good for fast food chicken…
