I had a couple to choose from this week, but I think I have to go with the one that’s an action cop thingie, rather than the one that’s straight horror because, well:
I understand how impoverished a microbudget production is. Really I do. But snapping pics on the set with your cell phone still isn’t nearly as good as having a real production photographer. Honest.
(What? You want to see the horror cover that was the runner-up? Fine. Click here.)

I guess the title “People Pointing Guns” was already taken?

Are they suspending their police badges from lanyards around their necks?
Do any police actually do this? I mean, I’m no expert on police procedure, but this is new to me…

I’ve seen the lanyard thing before, but it’s mostly for plainclothes or undercover officers who want to have their badges hidden until they slip them on. I can’t tell from the picture if these two are in uniform or just wearing dark clothes.

Hm… both the female officers are dressed identically, despite being in different places in presumably entirely different scenes, so I’m guessing it’s supposed to be a uniform. (The male officer’s costume looks slightly different, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything.) But who can know for sure…

“Ka-pow! You’re dead!”
“No way! I got you first!”
It’s nice that people get to live out their childhood fantasies and all, but to expect other people to pay for the priviledge of watching them do it is a bit steep.

Well, I’d say the runner up is actually effective, if for no other reason than it looks like a cover made by an actual sex offender, so points for realism, I guess.
As for the cop movie — is that Snoop Dog in a swami turban hassling that girl in the bottom left corner? Ultimately, I can’t condemn this one, because at least they’re not holding their guns sideways or crossing their arms while shooting.
