Ridiculous Self-Aggrandizement

Posted on August 24, 2011

A relatively new Website, Daily Grindhouse, decided to rattle my cage and talk about Forever Evil. Yes, the villain still pursues me.

Fans of Jabootu may know this, but Ken Begg, myself, Sandy “Call of Cthulhu” Petersen and often Chris Holland of Stomp Tokyo get together annually to poke at the unsuspecting with movie-shaped sticks. One such get-together happened a week ago. No one was ever heard from again – until now.

Oh, yeah, incidentally, I’m still alive. How are you guys doing?

Nuts! I KNEW I FORGOT SOMETHING AT T-FEST! I can’t believe I forgot to bring my Forever Evil DVD to have you autograph it! I love that movie. And not in an ironic way, like I love so many of the movies in my collection. I mean, it’s flawed, but I genuinely love it.

Well, maybe next year, if I don’t forget before then…

Well, Rational, if it makes you feel any better, I have this ancient copy of “S. Petersen’s Guide to the Cthulhu Monsters” that I’ve meant to have Sandy autograph every year since the first. I usually remember I didn’t pack it about the time I hit the Dallas city limits.

I haven’t read it yet, but I already have to assume that Dr. Freex’s piece on T-Fest renders my in-progress piece completely unnecessary, and will make mine look like crap in comparison should I go ahead and finish it.

And yet, I’m absolutely tickled he’s written something new for me to enjoy.

Man, I shouldn’t be wishing for a stiff drink this early in the morning…

…Have you read my pieces before?

Uhhhh. SURE! MANY TIMES! ALL THE TIME!

Hell, link please? I really do like reading what other people thought of the movies.

I guess they’re under review because I had links in them?

I tried to repost and it said I already had posted a duplicate, despite it not showing up.

If that’s the case, whoever’s reviewing them, feel free to just post one of them.

There, I have an avatar now. No more stupid messages constantly popping up.

Since I don’t know if the link post is ever coming through, I’ll just say that the write-ups are over at Jabootu. The first T(ween)-Fest and T-Fest 2010 ones are in the Nuggets section, Q-T, just below the Paul Lynde Halloween special in the listings. Ken and I’s pieces on T(ween)-Fest II are on the front page of Jabootu, under “Latest Nugget.”

And, thus, I live up to the title of the thread.

Well, Rev, if it’s any consolation, your avatar’s keen.

I looked through the comment archive, and SURPRISE! Your comments were marked as spam. I undeleted the last one. Sorry about that!

All right, let’s hope for the best…

Anyway, it’s all right if you haven’t read them. I’m surprised anyone does. Hell, I’m surprised Ken wastes his bandwidth on them.

Still, for those interested, here are the more recent ones…

    The first T(ween)-Fest: http://jabootu.net/?p=2848

    T-Fest 2010: http://jabootu.net/?p=3769

T(ween)-Fest 2 is still on the homepage, under “Latest Nugget.”

Man, I’m living up to the title of this thread, am I?

The best part of the Rev’s T-fest writings are when he curses Chris Holland. His suffering and outcries are my joy!

I’d take you to task for that, but considering how much delight I got out of people experiencing the end of Nightmare City for the first time…well, it’d be highly hypocritical.

Chris wasn’t at T-Fest this year. However, Ken gamely took over the being-cursed-at duties.

And now that my days of Work Hell are over (for the moment) and I can actually take a breath and read stuff – those were fun!

Will: Yes, yes it is. I was inspired by our recent viewing of Super Inframan. I’d somehow forgotten how much I love She-Demon, and thought this’d help make it up to her.

Dr. Freex: Thank you very much. I take that as high praise.
