Gotta love the white faces and tan necks, arms and legs.
Or, in that one case on the far right, slightly less white gut.

It’s amazing to me how infrequently it occurs to the makeup people on these micro-budget productions that they need to put makeup on every part of the body that the camera’s going to see.

It’s cute how you think they have dedicated makeup people.

I assume that it goes something like “Ew, I can’t put the makeup on my neck, it’ll get on my shirt”.
I promise that if I ever get cast as a zombie I will turn up wearing old clothes.
Speaking as an occasionally-professional photographer, I’d just like to say that on-axis flash is evil. The only time I use it is if I’m doing something strictly for record-keeping, and even then it has to be something with little or no relief.

Why is it that I look at that image and think anything snarky I say about it is akin to me punting puppies into a sarlacc pit? Have I grown that soft?

Punting puppies into a sarlacc pit. What beautiful imagery. 🙂

Hey, Nathan, why for I haven’t seen any activity over at Cold Fusion in a while?

Frankly, because of busyness and burnout. I had a number of other literary pursuits on deck, both reading and writing, and trying to fit the reviews in around them made B-movies seem like work. Like, real “Grumble, grumble, gotta do it” work.
I planned to just step back and only do one review a month for a while, but that’s been several months, and well… I discovered there was no vacuum in my life. (In fact, I don’t know that I’ve ever been more tired.)
Just last night I changed the front page to showcase contributions by the Cold Fusioneers so the site wouldn’t appear completely comatose.

Hmm. Pity. Oh well…you’ve done some great work, all your old reviews will still be online for me to profit by, and at least this way I might have another novel of yours to read! So, that glass is definitely more than half full.
