Jabootu correspondent Mr. Rational disproves his name by writing what I call a Guest Dissertation. Getting Hollywood to recognize even glaring flaws in popular works (I’m looking at you, James Cameron) is a daunting task, but Mr. Rational rolled up his sleeves and dived in anyway. It just goes to show that if you star in one of the most amazingly successful TV movies ever, you have a glamorous life of Robot Chicken episodes and appearances in Sucker Punch and Machete Kills in your future. Anyhoo, as this was made in 2006 (!!!!), its fittingly time for the 10 Year Reunion of their

The first paragraph of the “Act I” description made me laugh so hard I nearly choked.
It struck me as I was reading: this review is like a monumental piano concerto. It starts with an introduction to set the tone, and then the soloist steps in (at the beginning of the synopsis) with what sounds like new material… but almost immediately, you realize it’s building directly from the introduction; and then it just keeps going, developing its ideas and getting more and more virtuosic, until it recapitulates (with the description of how the movie should have gone), presenting the ideas of the opening in a whole new context. Really well done. I’m only sorry it’s taken me so long to get around to commenting on it.
And I’m certainly NOT sorry I’ve never seen the movie.

Nor I; though I am somewhat amused to discover that The Asylum produced (released?) something called Sunday School Musical. I imagine it was aimed at Glee rather than this, but it still made me giggle.
