So I did something about it.
THE MUMMY’S CURSE (1944)
…is notable chiefly for the contempt it displays for the franchise which contains it. That said, it’s probably the only chance you’ll ever have to see a 3,000-year-old, undead Egyptian princess using a microscope.
I have also copied over:
– The Mummy’s Hand (1940)
– The Mummy’s Tomb (1942)
– The Mummy’s Ghost (1944)
…and as a consequence, I am currently suffering a strange medical condition I call “bandage-blindness”.

Hi. This isn’t at all relevant to the review — sorry about that — but does a photo of you exist anywhere on your site? You must realize that any number of shallow male readers can’t help wondering if you’re as attractive as you are cool…which doesn’t actually seem possible, but there’s always that chance, and it’s not like Australia’s on the Moon or anything like that. 😉 😉 ;-)Thanks for your time.

This seems like a reasonably placeholder:

Fair enough. Also, judging from your reaction, I didn’t cross any lines via the initial message. I got concerned about that almost the minute after I sent it. (what lines? how would I know? I’ll freely admit to being clueless about a lot of things). Take care. 🙂

Further not on topic (I know, I JUST KEEP DOING THIS, thinking of things to post about AFTER I’ve already made a post), is there a way to link from your reviews to, uh, the matching B-Master comment sections like this very one within I am commenting? One of my numerous unfortunate habits is to make what I consider to be moderately interesting remarks (or ask what I consider to be moderately significant questions) and then completely forget what they were (and what the answers were). 😉 Thanks again.

Posting here sets up a pingback link at my blog, but I delete them from the list of comments because they’re messy and tend to overwhelm the actual comments.
So there isn’t any direct link. But of course, there always is a post here, so you know where to look for your reminders.

This has really got me reading through all your reviews of the original Universal Mummy films, and appreciating the way you set the scene in a wider context (cinematic and otherwise) at the start of each. It’s definitely getting me interested in that whole 20s-50s creature feature era. Most inspiring!
