Why, you may be asking, would I subject myself to another movie by filmmaker J. A. Steel? After all, I thought that her first movie, The Third Society, was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. And her next movie, Salvation, wasn’t that much better. Well, Steel is one of a rare breed: a female filmmaker making B movies. I can’t help but be curious about such efforts. And as terrible as her movies might be, they are clearly made by someone who loves making movies. You can’t help but admire this spirit. All of which explains why I decided to tackle her new movie Denizen, along with the hope that maybe the third time would be the charm.
