“One of the most clichéd alternate methods is the “casting couch” method, offering yourself sexually to people in the motion picture industry who are responsible for casting….It would be hard for a casting person to justify to the producers putting up the budget of a movie the sudden casting of someone who isn’t talented at acting. ”
Well, taking the casting couch route doesn’t necessarily mean that one has no acting talent (much as actually having acting talent doesn’t guarantee that one will “get the part”). It just means that one is pursuing the course of least resistance.

What I perceive as a noticeable flaw to the scenario occurs to me, though: Suppose an actress sleeps with the producer (or director, or whoever) and he nevertheless doesn’t give her the part. What, exactly, would there be for her to do about it? What’s she supposed to do, sue him?

Well, that would remove a lot of the incentive to keep quiet about it.

After seeing Eegah! and Wild Guitar (which is like an art film compared to Eegah!, although not as much fun, naturally), watching Hall and Manning in this was like being hit with a bucket of cold water. “Wow, they actually CAN act! Why didn’t they ever bother before?” It is a surprisingly brutal film, and it’s hard to recommend a movie that can’t really be described as “fun,” but I still do. It’s well worth the time to see it.

Whoops, forgot something! Do everything you can to get ahold of Road to Revenge/Geteven. It really should be better known among the B-movie community (even after RedLetterMedia brought it to people’s attention). I found it to be a nonstop delight of inadvertant comedy and absolute whatthefuckery. Also, the songs put those in movies like The Room and Birdemic to SHAME. “The Shimmy Slide” is one of the greatest musical performances in history, hands down.

As a matter of fact, I have heard of “Road to Revenge” / “Geteven”. Since I learned about it a while back, I have tried very hard to find a way to watch it, but so far I have not succeeded.
