I first saw this way back in high school under the title The Crawlers. It is pretty slow going, but the finale is fun. Obviously, your mileage will depend on how entertained you are by people wrestling rubber tree roots and various toy vehicles.

I saw this movie, and the most stupidest dumbest thing ever was at the end, when they’re trying to find all the toxic waste barrels. They already know that the trees are killers, and the roots are grabbing everyone that gets too close. So what do they do? Separate and look for barrels by themselves. I can’t count how many instances of “Hey, where did Bob go?” “Oh, I’m sure he’s alright” at the end there were. Switch to Bob being swallowed and strangled by the roots.
