Braineater looks at two more films by Carlos Enrique Taboada: El Vagabundo en la lluvia (The Drifter in the Rain, 1968) and El Libro de piedra (The Book of Stone, 1969).
And, since my first installment came out just before this blog made its debut, here’s more on one of Mexico’s most accomplished horror directors: Hasta el viento tiene miedo (Even the Wind is Afraid, 1968).

All of the Taboada films I’m reviewing are available on DVD, and all of them are currently available (new or used) through Amazon. You may have to look for them by title, since not all of them are listed under the director’s name. Most of them are extremely cheap, although “Más negro que la noche” (which is next on my list) is still very expensive and relatively rare. The only significant drawback to these discs is that they have no English; however, subtitles are available on the Internet for all but “Más negro…”, and even that film is reasonably easy to follow if you know any Spanish at all.
