Just a few tweaks and touches:
- I’ve finally resurrected my Immortal Dialogue section; the main link is on the front page
- I’ve also resurrected Taglines; the main link is part of Etc., Etc., Etc…
- I’ve fixed up the screenshots in Grizzly, which due to technical issues came out fuzzy the first time around
- And I’ve found a rather gorgeous Danish poster for The Last Warning (although oddly it fails to mention star Laura La Plante); I’ve added it in at the foot of the review

What about the one where the guy unwittingly trained dolphins to kill the President?

On Grizzly… Fuzzy isn’t entierly unappropriate. I’ve seen shots of the props, and the arm for the cabin scene looks more fuzzy than fierce.

Yes, I desperately need a frame-forward function; there are few things more frustrating than being unable to capture that glorious split-second that your eye sees so clearly. Still, I managed to grab the bear suit this time around, so I was pleased about that.
Um…in what capacity?

Sorry for not being specific. I believe it was the tagline for “Day of the Dolphins.”

“Unwittingly He Trained a Dolphin to Kill the President of the United States.” Oh, man, don’t you hate it when that happens!?
Perfect, thank you.

One more tagline (from “I’ll Kill you…I’ll bury you…and I’ll spit on your grave, too!”): “This Violent Story Is Definitely Not For The Squimish!!!”

I see you have the tagline for Godzilla vs The Smog Monster. But I can’t find a review for it. If you have not yet reviewed this film…. WHY THE HELL NOT, JEEZ, WHAT’S WRONG WIT YA?!?
(Scuse me, got carried away.)
But seriously, if there were ever a film that called for an aycyasing…

Sigh. Because I am psychologically compelled to review everything from Godzilla Raids Again to Godzilla Vs Gigan first. Your best hope is the selection of a Roundtable topic that gives me an excuse to break sequence.

We need an eco-disaster rountable, stat.
Eco-disaster movies are cool because of how often the good guys lose.

Oh man, I wish I’d never read that. Now I have to anxiously sit and wait for the Godzilla reviews I just KNOW, one day, will come. *sigh*

I just hope your Godzilla Raids Again review covers “Gigantis, the Fire Monster” too.

And here I’ve been hoping that Lyz would throw down against Hollow Man. I mean, it rips off HG Wells without ever giving credit, and it’s a modern mad scientist movie. And yet, it’s such a horrible little wet fart of a movie, awful in none of the ways that please Jabootu and jammed pack with every tedious modern convention. Maybe instead a review of Ssssss? As a snake lover and snake owner parts of it made me giggle with glee and I thought most of the snake handling was pretty good (though maybe I’m mistaking). Right up until the point of the mongoose – when I started hoping desperately that I wasn’t seeing what I thought I was seeing. I look forward to the more knowledgable comments of the regulars.

(Gigantis, Smog and Ssssss, all yes, eventually; Hollow Man, hmm, dunno…)
.
So what kind of snakes do you own?

I’ve seen Hollow Man. I can also remember Verhoeven in interviews saying it was a response to an argument in Plato’s Republic.
I have a background in philosophy. Verhoeven’s comment led to much derisive laughter, I can tell you.

At least you’re leaving us wanting more, eh?
You know, you should use this spate of review requests to blackmail someone into getting you that poster, or something else you heart desires…you have the power, and it’s not like we have any control over you, in that far-off land of yours…

Currently 2 corn snakes (Elaphe guttata) Kore and Demeter – lovely little beasties with really nice temperaments. I also shared a house with someone who had 2 Sudanese plated lizards, a green iguana, and a ball python. I miss the ball python, she was a great snake as well, but much fussier about her vivarium. Even small changes in temperature and humidity would put her off her feed, the corn snakes are very forgiving. Which is good, I live in a drafty house built in 1908 and one of the ironies of being Californian is that I spend the winter at a constant 55 degrees indoors as we never bother to properly weatherproof our houses. Anyway, having only been around very mellow herps with forgiving temperaments I never had to rise to any real level of snake handling skills. OK, the iguana had way too much attitude and really held a grudge, but was far more inclined to use it’s tail as whip than to try and take a bite out of us.

I don’t think I’ve ever met a healthy iguana that was anything less than an utter bastard.

Hmm…that gives me a good excuse. If anyone ever criticizes me for being a b*******, I simply say that it’s because I ate an iguana (which I really did, eggs and all) and assimilated its personality.

Has nothing to do with anything (except maybe sock hunting) but struck me as something that needed to be shared. Build your own virtual squid http://squid.tepapa.govt.nz/build-a-squid/interactive
(I’d rather it was build your own virtual cuttlefish, but anything ‘pod related is good with me. Found this up via Bruce Schneier’s Friday Squid Blog to give credit where it’s due.)
