I haven’t done an ‘update’ post here for a while, about the stuff I’ve been transferring over to the blog; so I thought I’d take care of that before getting stuck into the new Roundtable:

I have now transferred and tidied up:
– The Flying Saucer (1950)
– Revolt Of The Zombies (1936)
– The Last Warning (1929)
– The Magic Cloak Of Oz (1914)
– The Patchwork Girl Of Oz (1914)
– The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz (1910)
I have also added two new Et Al. posts: April17, in which the journey through 2007 continues, plus there’s a bunch of random stuff that came out of the tape-box; and Aug17, in which 2007 is finally wrapped up, while I also reveal a shameful growing addiction to the Midday Movie…

Hey, it’s Mr. Monopoly’s great-great-grandfather. Or not 😉

It’s funny- I thought I’d read all of your reviews, but I don’t even vaguely remember that THE LAST WARNING review. Judging from the roundtable it was part of, I should have read it when it was first put up. It’s a memorable review, too- the only thing I had previously known about the movie was that it used sets from THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Now I kinda want to see it.

I did a couple of Méliès films for that Roundtable, then I did this—you might have missed the second update?
The Last Warning is more than worth a look. I’m still hoping for a full-on restoration some day, but at least we have the Grapevine clean-up now (in which the resulting print looks even more damaged than the old grey market one, but you can see a lot more of the detail).

I remember the Melies reviews, so, yeah, I probably somehow missed that second update.
