I think this may be the first film we’ve both reviewed. For me the comedy was sometimes a distraction from what I really enjoyed about it, the serious character-building and in particular the relationship between Max and Amanda,

The movie, while overall good, is definitely a bit uneven in several regards. I did enjoy the mother-daughter bits, since they gave the movie heart, something you usually don’t see in the slasher genre.
