It’s the most terrifying peril yet…loads of Odious Comic Relief! See this and more as we examine The Necklace of Treachery.
(Not to be confused with The Bracelet of Betrayal, or The Tiara of Treason.)

Well, we wouldn’t want people thinking that a criminal life was some sort of passport to riches and long-term survival, would we?
This one seems to be pretty much padding.

It’s kind of the nature of the beast, really. You set up the basic plot (generally *very* basic) in a few chapters, resolve it in the final few, and tread water in the 10 episodes in-between.
In a way, though, I like the variance in magnitude. In today’s movies they feel like they need something gigantic occurring every five minutes. Here some of the more humdrum perils serve to make the burning warehouses and spiked ceilings all the more exciting.
