From New Zealand comes the horror comedy Last Of The Living. Unfortunately, writer/director Logan McMillan is no Peter Jackson.

For true microbudget filmmaking, there’s always El Mariachi, the whole thing made for $7,225.
Although there are honourable exceptions, I tend to regard writer-director (or writer-lead or director-lead) as a warning sign: if there’s nobody to rein in a bad idea, it can take over the film. Sometimes (as, it seems, here), that’s just dull; sometimes it can bring on the kind of entertaining insanity that’s the reason I found bad movie fandom in the first place.

“Stef tells the three slackers that she knows about a secret serum that can possibly reverse the zombie virus. However, the virus is located at a hospital not only some distance away, but completely surrounded by zombies. ”
In the second sentence, “the virus” should probably be “the serum”.

And I just saw I made another typo in my reply above. It’s not my day.
