Special effects guru Stan Winston made his directorial debut with the engaging horror movie Pumpkinhead.
Jabootu correspondent Mr. Rational disproves his name by writing what I call a Guest Dissertation. Getting Hollywood to recognize even glaring flaws in popular works (I’m looking at you, James Cameron) is a daunting task, but Mr. Rational rolled up his sleeves and dived in anyway. It just goes to show that if you star in one of the most amazingly successful TV movies ever, you have a glamorous life of Robot Chicken episodes and appearances in Sucker Punch and Machete Kills in your future. Anyhoo, as this was made in 2006 (!!!!), its fittingly time for the 10 Year Reunion of their
Ken Begg is the proprietor of Jabootu: The Bad Movie Dimension.

A few new things around the blog:
There is a new review in Science In The Reel World.
College Coach (1933) is chiefly a look at the state of American college football in the early 30s, but makes the grade due to the team’s star quarterback being also an aspiring chemist.
There is also a new set of short reviews in Et Al. No overarching theme this time, mostly just what I’ve been watching on the Midday Movie – I can do that now! – although you’ll note a few points of accidental overlap.
And there are a few new bits in Random Film Stuff, but I’ll let you find those for yourselves.
