…chasing, drilling, slashing, killing…
Aww, dolls. How sweet. Little miniature humans that can be played with and posed…dresses and undressed…dismantled and reassembled…twisted and tortured… Anything, in fact, that a child’s imagination can concoct.
But what happens when our playthings get tired of being pushed around? When they decide to find out what we look like with our heads turned around—or how far our arms can bend back—or what we’re stuffed with?
Join us this month as we follow the adventures of some dolls who give a whole new meaning to the term “action figure”. It might start out as just fun and games…
…but trust us, it’ll end in tears.
It’s HELLO, DOLLY – all through November at the B-Masters’ blog!

Did that banner startle anyone else just a tad?
This should be good fun. Lyz might continue in her recent vein with more modern movies, or maybe pick up her Puppet Master reviews (I have a feeling the puppet introduced in the third one made her squeal a bit)? Or El Santo could start some? Ken has a plethora of choices if he is able to join in; and I’m interested to see what Keith B. pulls out. Will and Keith A. could probably present some insane movie from somewhere in southeast Asia and India, respectively.
I have to admit, the possibilities on this one have me pretty excited! Looking forward to it.

I thought you found it endearing that that still happened on occasion…

Trust me, that’s the LEAST startling of our banner selections. Will has outdone himself this time…

Oh my. We are forewarned.
Will really has a knack for those, assuming he’s done the vast majority of them.
My favorite one at this point is either the one for “We’re Going to Need a Bigger Roundtable” with the bear in the snorkel and mask, or the “Teeth and Tentacles” one with Sharktopus vs. Great White Squid, which I think was unfortunately lost in the Great Crash.

Yes, these days it all falls on Will.
If I ever get around to fixing / transferring those reviews, you’ll see them again.

The bear one can be seen above Will’s Tentacoli review. And, oh happy day, I just found out the other one’s above your Crocodile review!
Is it any wonder I adore you? 🙂

Since it’s timely, I’m going to point out that I had a hunch regarding Lyz’s reaction to Six-Shooter; and sure enough, check the PM3 review for her feelings on it.
See that, Lyz? More proof…that I understand you.
MUWHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
(Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand with that, the Rev. tipped the scales between “creepy” and “adorable.” Good job, me.)

Do TV episodes count?
MeTV has a great commercial with Telly Savalas getting the call from the doll and cuts to Kojak replying on the phone.

That would depend on the website, really. Some of us do TV episodes, and others don’t.

Of course, the most obvious TV episode would be a certain classic Twilight Zone episode…

Trilogy of Terror, anyone? Unless the statue doesn’t count as a doll.
(Actually what are the standards? Ventriloquist dummies? Puppets and marionettes? Stuffed animals?)

After discussion, we’re going with a wide definition of “doll”, which means an embarrassment of riches, really.

I don’t think any of us is doing Creepshow 2, for example, but it would qualify on account of Old Chief Woodenhead.

Wide definition of “doll”? Well, just so long as no one covers Marie-poupee… that film left some scars on my brain.
