The hostage drama Curfew is a frustrating mix of effective and incompetent material. Despite some good moments, in the end it’s not worth coming home in time to see.

One of the BBFC’s sticking points was realistic violence presented in a cartoonish way — sure, they didn’t want viewers to see actual gore, but neither did they want viewers to think “hey, this is fun, and nobody’s really hurt, I’ll try it myself”. I can see where they were coming from, at least.
